S8 is an IP65 grade 8-inch rugged Android tablet that is designed to withstand rough handling, like outdoor or in-vehicle harshest environment use. As for its CPU and OS, S8 is powered by Rockchip RK3288W ARM Cortex- A17 quad-core with Android 7.1 Nougat system or Linux (Ubuntu18.04). It also integrates optional modules like Gigabit Ethernet for data transmission and NFC for identification. Meanwhile, for in-vehicle use, it has functional interfaces such as RS232, RS422, USB host, etc. which are suitable for many applications such as fleet management, public transit, intelligent mining, precision farming, logistics and industrial control, etc.
Cutting-Edge Connectivity
S8 offers cutting-edge connectivity. It is integrated with all the essential networking modules: 4G LTE/ 3G Cellular, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth and Gigabit Ethernet for data communication and NFC for identification. The Wi-Fi module supports the latest Wi-Fi standards – 802.11a/b/g/n/ac. Similarly, Bluetooth enables the device to be paired with another so as to make a secured Personal Area Network. The device can be extended with a wireless keyboard, mouse, hand-free, etc. Through Bluetooth, It can effectively connect up to the range of 32 feet. As far as the cellular module is concerned, it is equipped with 4G LTE/3G technology. Moreover, it offers radio navigation systems: GPS, BEIDOU and GLOSNASS through which a user can navigate across the globe.
Onboard I/O Support with Docking
S8 also provides multiple connections for external equipment. It can be extended with USB, OTG, RS232, RS422 (RS485 optional) and Docking extension (optional). Through the extension of MDT with other peripherals, more industrial applications scenarios can be covered. S8 supports TF card (up to 128GB), having Combo Audio Jack and also POGO PIN.
